Biography

Dad Hats is a four five-piece rock outfit from Nashville, Tennessee, whose music oozes "indie rock charm mixed with the grit of upbeat pop-punk" (thepoppunkdad.com). Their sophomore release, Spill, comes complete with earworm guitar riffs, locomotor rhythms, and lyrics that are equal parts poignant and self-depricating.

Dad Hats began their Mind Over Matter Records journey with a holiday single, digitally releasing their lively rendition of Frosty The Snowman as a small little gift between their self-released debut LP and their sophomore full length.

Spill was released in February of 2023 and all physical copies quickly sold out. There were multiple singles (and accompanying music videos) in the run up to the album's release, each one seething with the unique charm of the band while also capturing the essence of the album itself; equal parts fun-loving and self-deprecating.

On the one year anniversary of Spill, Dad Hats released a super limited 7" single with an alternate version of Claustrophobia with an acoustic version of Brain In A Jar, both of which were unreleased versions from the full length. This 7" was limited to only 30 hand-numbered copies and has not been made available digitally.
